Chuprene Municipality is located in the northwestern part of the country, on the northern and northeastern slopes of the Balkan mountain, near the state border with Serbia. To the north, east and south it borders with Belogradchik, Rujinci and Chiprovci. The municipality centre – Chuprene is located 175 km far from the capital Sofia and 75 km far from the district centre- Vidin.
Chuprene Municipality includes eight towns and villages- Gorni Lom, Dolni Lom, Replyana, Targovishte, Varbovo, Sredogriv and Protopopinci with municipality centre – the village of Chuprene.
